What’s Selling?

The re-sale market is constantly changing. The Dutiful Daughter does not control the market but we try to keep up on the changing landscape to try to maximize our client’s revenue for items sold. We do this through our network of buyers and auctioneers. Our typical turnaround for items that we sell on behalf of our clients is two (2) to seven (7) weeks. Specialty items do take longer as we try to find the appropriate buyers. All items value depend on condition of the items.

Here is a quick list of items and general market values (no price is guaranteed):

  • Quality used furniture (non antique) – typically sells at $0.05 – $0.10 on the dollar of the new retail value
  • Hummels (4” – 5” in height) = $5 – $20 per piece
  • China sets = starting at $10 per set (manufacturer, condition and pattern dictate value)
  • Toys – varies depending on age of items and condition
  • Sterling

Items that are typically not selling:

  • Upholstered furniture or any fabric furniture
  • Upright pianos
  • Electrical items – older TV’s, audio visual equipment
